Childress’s 25/26 season unexpectedly began with a jump-in at the Hollywood Bowl in a debut with the LA Philharmonic.

Childress finished her 24/25 season with a nationwide US-tour

Prior to her debut with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Childress was interviewed by Paul Bodine.

After a first meeting in March 2024, Childress returned to conduct the Cleveland Orchestra for a concert at the Blossom Festival.

In May 2025, Childress was invited to conduct the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra in a performances of Mozart’s Requiem and his Exsultate, jubilate.

In May 2024, Childress made her debut with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at the May Festival where she led the world premiere of Julia Wolfe’s All that breathes, alongside a performance of Wolfe’s Pretty David Lang’s National Anthems, and concluded with Vaughan Williams’s Dona nobis pacem with soloists Camilla Tilling and Daniel Okulitch.

In March 2024, Childress led a production of Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking the Waves at the Detroit Opera, directed by Tom Morris and restaged by Diana Wyenn.

In December 2023, Childress was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra following an initial meeting with the orchestra in July 2022.

After two seasons as assistant conductor of the SLSO, Childress concluded her tenure with a dazzling concert in May 2023, the last in Powell Hall preceding the hall’s closure and renovation.

Stephanie Childress won the 2nd prize at the inaugural La Maestra competition in 2020 at the Philharmonie de Paris.
